A hose clamp is a connecting element for securely fastening a hose with a hose clamp. Hose clamps are used wherever a firm and permanent connection is required and it must be ensured that the hose does not slip off.
The ring-shaped metal band is tightened by turning the threaded screw, pressing it evenly around the end of the hose with the internal hose clamp. The outer edge of the clamp is slightly turned up to avoid damaging the hose.
If you want to use hose clamps in a damp environment, you should pay attention to the materials used to make the hose clamp. If a hose clamp starts to rust, this is not necessarily due to poor quality, but usually to the wrong choice of quality. Also note that even rustproof 1.4301 (V2A) steel requires some care under water, as deposits and surface rust can form if the water contains iron.
For outdoor use, only hose clamps in quality W4 - completely stainless steel 1.4301 (V2A) should be used.
For use with highly corrosive media (e.g. salt water), quality W5 – completely stainless steel 1.4571 (V4A) – should be used.
The outer diameter of the hose is crucial for selecting the right variant. For example, our 32mm suction and pressure hose has an external dimension of approx. 37.6mm. This measurement should be in the upper third of the clamping range of the hose clamp if possible; i.e. a hose clamp with a clamping range of 25 - 40mm is optimal for this hose.
A conventional screwdriver is normally sufficient for fastening a hose clamp. We also offer you a special hose clamp screwdriver, which is characterized by a flexible shaft and a special turning head. The turning head securely holds the adjusting screw without the risk of slipping.
PVC-Welt.de - Your hose clamp shop - large range of hose clamps
Whether you need hose clamp W1, hose clamp W2, hose clamp W4 or hose clamp W5, you will find all these types of hose clamps in our webshop. We offer you a wide selection of hose clamps online, from worm drive hose clamps to hinge bolt clamps.
The worm drive hose clamp is certainly the classic among hose clamps. You know the product colloquially simply under the name hose clamp. You can choose from different qualities in our webshop PVC-Welt.de- W1 all components are made of galvanized steel
- W2: stainless steel band, screw made of galvanized steel
- W4 Completely made of stainless steel AISI 304 or comparable according to DIN 3017
- W5 all components made of stainless steel AISI 316 according to DIN 3017
The distinguishing feature is the corrosion resistance in the salt water spray test.
- W1 at least 72 hours
- W2 at least 144 hours
- W4 at least 240 hours
- W5 at least 400 hours
Due to their simple design, worm drive clamps are very attractively priced compared to other products and can have a larger clamping diameter than the hinge bolt clamp. All you need for assembly is a screwdriver and it is recommended to use two hose clamps to secure the hose. The screws should be positioned opposite each other.
Swivel-bolt clamps are ideal for hoses without reinforcement or with a thin spiral reinforcement, such as suction or pressure hoses with metal spirals. If, for example, you use a hose on a connector without a hose clamp, the larger contact surface of the joint bolt clamp allows it to develop more holding force. However, the ideal case is always to connect the hose to a hose clamp.
Pivot bolt clamps are also used in the automotive industry, in water supply and sewage systems, and for hoses with a higher degree of hardness.
