Mounting a plastic flange
A plastic flange can also be connected to a counterpart made of a different material, such as steel. The dimensions just have to be compatible and the mating surface has to be flat and undamaged
The bolts must be tightened in stages in the order shown in the diagram on the left
Tighten all nuts hand-tight and evenly. Now tighten all bolts step by step in the order shown. You can use the specified torque (Nm) as a guide
Important: Tighten the screws step by step and approach the reference value.
Information on the various flange types
Fixed flange with flange bushing
This flange allows for an easy connection to the PVC-U pipe with PVC-U glue. There are two types of slip-on flanges: one-piece and Van Stone (slip-on flange with collar bushing). One-piece flanges are solid molded parts. After gluing to the piping system, the flange can no longer be rotated
Slip-on flange/loose flange
This is a two-part flange with a rotating ring (slip-on flange) that simplifies the alignment of the bolts. The separation of the slip-on flange/loose flange from the flange sleeve means that small corrections are still possible
Threaded flange
Flange with internal thread. Threaded flanges do not require PVC-U glue for installation. This flange has a reinforced internal thread with a V2A ring for connection to an external threaded fitting or nipple
Blind Flange
When a system flow needs to be stopped, the blind flange is best suited for the job. These flanges are not glued or threaded to the pipe. They are simply bolted to another flanged connection and the inserted gasket seals the end of the pipe, but allows for future expansion by swapping with a fixed flange or a slip-on flange with a flange adapter
