PVC-U adhesive and its properties
Adhesive bonding of PVC is actually a misnomer, since the process is a form of cold welding. PVC pipe, glue and Socket form a permanently bonded unit after final hardening and, when correctly executed, the connection point shows the same quality characteristics as the entire remaining PVC piping system. After the adhesive has cured, no chemical substances are released into the pipe system. The bond is permanent and can only be worked on mechanically.
PVC adhesive has a shelf life of at least 24 months in unopened original packaging – theoretically indefinitely. However, since a minimal exchange of oxygen takes place even in the unopened original packaging, the adhesive will thicken over time. This process is "accelerated" when opened. Do not use viscous glue that is no longer spreadable or can no longer be applied with a brush. Do not thin with cleaner! Minimum ambient temperature for gluing: +5°C.

PVC-U cleaner and its properties
During the production of fittings, release agents are used, among other things. These and other greasy environmental influences or residues are safely removed by PVC-U Cleaner. It is also a caustic cleaning agent. PVC-U Cleaner is a solvent mixture and has an unlimited shelf life. It will evaporate if the container is not closed.

PVC Cleaner ensures a secure bond and prevents leakage problems. The cleaner dissolves the structure of the surface of the PVC fitting to a certain extent, PVC fitting , resulting in optimal adhesion of the PVC glue.
PVC-U cleaner and adhesive are packaged and delivered in metal tins for a good reason, as plastics are permeable materials. A plastic bottle, even if tightly closed, would allow diffusion; PVC-U adhesive would gel faster; PVC-U cleaner would evaporate faster.
