Structure of a PP compression fitting for PE pipe
Number | Description | Material |
1 | Body | PP |
2 | O-ring | ePDM |
3 | insert part | pP |
4 | grip ring | pOM |
5 | Union nut | pP |
PP Polypropylene is a hard plastic, unlike PE pipes. The grip ring cuts into the outside of the PE pipe when the union nut is tightened. This creates a stable, mechanical connection between the pipe and the fitting. The insert holds the O-ring in position so that it seals the PE pipe after assembly. Chamfering is necessary and moistening is helpful when inserting the PE pipe into the fitting so that the PE pipe does not damage the O-ring when it is pushed in and does not push the O-ring down into the pipe channel.
The clamp connector is a permanent connection but can be disconnected at any time and reused at a different location.

PE (PP) pipe fitting, clamp fitting, PP fitting screw connection for PE pipes clamp connector, clamp ring screw connection clamp coupling for water pipe PE pipe
Pipes made of PELD, pipes made of PEHD, pipes made of PE40, pipes made of PE80, pipes and PE100 and PVC flex hose. Adhesive hose can be connected quickly and easily with the highest quality using our PP compression fittings from HTC without the need for adhesives or special tools.
The material PP polypropylene is extremely robust, weather and UV resistant, as well as resistant to inorganic salts in aqueous solutions, weak organic acids and alkalis, alcohol and some oils.
Absolutely non-toxic, odorless and tasteless, clamp fittings made of PP polypropylene from HTC are also suitable for the transport of drinking water, wine, beverages and other nutritional liquids - but without certification.
The maximum working pressure is 16 bar at 20°C for water as a medium. Although designed for cold water applications, the material can be used continuously in the range of 0°C to 60°C at reduced ratings and in short-term peaks even up to +80°C.
The threaded connection of the PE/PP transition sleeve with compression fitting is reinforced with a metal ring and also achieves the rating here in order to achieve a max. connection of PN 16 bar.
Do not use any sealing material that swells: sealing and connecting plastic threads
You are not sure which thread is present on your connection. If it is a so-called inch thread, gas thread or BSP pipe thread, this is indicated by an imprint or embossing on the fitting. This procedure is used worldwide, whether the connection was made in Buxtehude or Timbuktu. Care should be taken with unmarked threads, and a more thorough inspection is advisable.
To avoid any confusion...: the cross with the inch - or why 1" is not 25.4mmSelecting the right compression fittings for your pipe is very easy: PE pipes are always specified in mm. This metric specification is the pipe's external diameter. If you use a pipe with a lower rating and thus a thinner wall, the internal diameter changes – the external diameter of the pipe always remains the same. For example, if you have a pipe with an external diameter of 25mm, you need compression fittings with an internal diameter of 25mm. As you can see, selecting the fittings for the PE pipe is not difficult. If you are unsure, call our expert advisors.

The maximum working pressure of up to PN 16 bar says more than the pure maximum pressure load. A fitting with a high quality rating and higher quality components is certainly a better alternative than a component that is geared to the minimum. PE fittings and PE pipes for drinking water and industrial water as well as irrigation
PP compression fittings, also known as PE fittings or PE pipe fittings, have proven to be inexpensive, high-quality components in the construction of cold water supply lines, especially in irrigation technology. Due to the quick and easy processing, polypropylene fittings are almost always used for clamping up to a pipe diameter of 110mm. Clamp fittings for PE pipes from HTC are characterized not only by high-quality workmanship and quality at the same level as other European manufacturers, but also by the black color of the visible components (body, union nut). This ensures the highest level of UV stability and, when the pipes are laid in a visible location, the black finish allows the fitting to blend perfectly into its surroundings.
